Pure and simple, nothing beats home. It feels amazing to be home in NY. I have been so busy spending time with my family, settling back in and I still have an entire suitcase to unpack which is so unlike me considering unpacking might just be considered a hobby of mine. (I can’t ever wait to settle in, who likes living out of a suitcase?) Things have been so busy since Corey was only in NY for 2 days, we had to apply for our marriage license, meet with our venue to pick out our menu, linens, wedding cake, etc! Now, I just need to finally see some of my friends! And can I tell you how much I missed our two dogs.
They are just so stinken cute.
No joke, this is her smiling.
Apparently she missed Corey’s dad too because she wouldn’t stop hugging and kissing him!
Then, after Corey left yesterday, I spent the day shopping at Palisades with my mom helping her pick out her dress to wear on my wedding day and she found the perfect dress, she looks stunning in it! I would post a picture, but she looks so beautiful, that I want to keep it a surprise. We stopped at Salad Works in the mall and it was delicious! It was so nice to see a healthy alternative in a mall for once. I had a chicken, tomato, mozzarella, avocado and walnut salad tossed in a light raspberry vinaigrette with butternut squash soup, highly recommend.
My mom also had the butternut squash soup but with a chicken, tangerine, chickpea and feta salad, also highly recommend. Hopefully we see more of Salad Works or other healthy options these days!
I woke up this morning, had to run to the doctor’s office for a quick appointment, then I finally made it to Gold’s Gym in Fishkill, NY…my FAVORITE gym in the world. I love their classes, all of their equipment, their protein shake bar if you want to grab one on the go. No matter how long I am gone for or how far away I am from NY, I always still feel at home when I go back there. I hate how expensive their protein shakes are so I rarely buy my shake at the gym, I usually just make my shakes at home, but it’s been so long that I couldn’t resist having my favorite protein shake from there after my workout. It’s called “Chocolate Thinny Mint.” It’s a mix of skim milk, ice, chocolate protein powder and mint extract, just blend and enjoy. It tastes just like those girl scouts chocolate thin mints, only MUCH healthier! Best way to end my workout.
And now it’s time to get a little relaxation in, hoping my jet lag wears off soon and perhaps a few more errands today. And the count down is seriously on for my wedding. First dress fitting this Tuesday in New Hampshire, wish me luck. <3
